Accident debris on the road

After I finished with the sidewalk to the Towpath, I walked back to my car.  It was parked at the Family Dollar.  I went ahead and cleaned up all the trash in their parking lot and emptied my trash bag in their dumpster.

Then I crossed the road and cleaned all four corners of the Wilbeth/Main intersection.  It was an open area, and I was sure I was going to blow away.  People sitting in their cars, waiting for the light to change must have been howling as they watched me try to keep my trash from blowing out of my bucket!

At the northwest corner, I saw debris.  Yes, car parts from an accident.  This is the 6th mess of debris I have cleaned up.  I don't understand why the City of Akron doesn't make sure car parts are cleaned up.  I think if I called the Sanitation Dept., they would come out and clean it up, but in the meantime, I just clean it up.

I was tired and cold and ready to call it a day, but debris helped my numbers!  I picked up 1,246 pieces of trash today, and even though it was 1,636 pieces short of my goal, at least I gave it everything I had.  That's all anybody can do.  I knew winter would be hard.  I'll do better next week.
