VIRGINIA ROAD WAS WORSE THAN WILBETH!

 

Last night, I received an email from Heather DiMartino with a link to 330 to go's Facebook post thanking "the woman picking up trash on Wilbeth."

What a BIG surprise!  So many wonderful comments from people thanking me for cleaning Akron.  And letting me know that other people are starting to join in!  I can't tell you how good that makes me feel!  Thank you so much!  Keep reading my blog, and stay in touch!

Okay, back to Wilbeth Road.  Here is the second obstacle I encountered Saturday when I tried to clean all of Wilbeth Road.  The obstacle was Virginia Avenue.  

When I got to Virginia Avenue, I saw it was a mess.  I couldn't walk by, so I tried to hurry up and pick up all the trash, and then get back to cleaning Wilbeth Road.

There was a lot more trash than I thought at first glance.  Not only were there bottles and cans and fast food wrappers on the side of the street, but look at this mess!  I picked up a bucket full of these little anti theft devices.  I think that's what they are.  They were everywhere!  All over the sidewalk, road and grass.

And there was also some kind of metal thing laying in the middle of the sidewalk that looked like it could be a Christmas tree stand.  It was very heavy.
 

And I had to carry it, because it wouldn't fit in my trash cart.

So I decided to go straight to the dumpster to get rid of the metal thing . . . and another obstacle came up.

I'll tell you about that tomorrow.  You won't believe it!  It was one of those moments when I said "No way!" out loud.
