ANOTHER SHORT BLOG POST - WHAT A MESS!

 

Wow!  Have you ever seen a mess like this?  

I saw it a couple of times, and because it's not out in the open, and because it has layers and layers of trash, I haven't tried to clean it.

I'm guessing it's a walk through from the Dollar Store to the homeless camps.  Or it is a homeless camp.  I don't know what the heck it is, but I decided to clean up some of it.  

Seems to me like it would be a haven for rats and snakes . . . and disease.

I filled up my trash bag once and headed for the dumpster.  

Unfortunately for me, the dumpster had a lock on it.  So I had to walk a block to \the dumpster at the big church.  By the time I got back, it was getting dark, and I didn't feel safe there.

But I did fill my trash bag a second time, 981 pieces.  And it does look much better.  I'll keep chipping away at it when I'm cleaning this area.  

I'll be back here first thing tomorrow.  There's a lot of trash to pick up.  I made a big dent, but I'm not even close to being done.

I drove home, got the dogs and went to the pizza place.  Every now and then I buy a pizza and freeze each piece separately.  When I'm hungry for pizza, I can bake a slice, and it satisfies my craving for pizza.

I drove into the parking lot, and there was so much trash in the grass.  (It was dark, and I saw so much trash.  Just imagine how it looked in the daylight!)

I hurried up and picked up 43 pieces, while my dogs watched me, wondering what I was doing.

A man standing in front of the pizza place said, "What are you doing?  Why are you doing their job?  That's crazy!"  

I told him, "I keep this area clean, and I can't stand to see it look like this.  I wish everybody would join in.  How can people eat here when they have to wade through trash?"

Then he asked me for a dollar, so I got my pizza and left.  He obviously will never understand what I'm doing.  He has enough problems.
