I'M OVER 900,000 PIECES!!!

What a great weekend for picking up trash!

Yesterday, I was in Barberton and Wadsworth.  This morning, I went back to Barberton and worked on Hudson Run.  I picked up 1,086 pieces there.  This afternoon, I had six areas in Akron I wanted to clean.

First, I went to the football field on Wilbeth and got that all cleaned up.  I picked up 1,217 pieces of trash there.

I see lots of cats in this area, but this is one of the prettiest wild cats I've seen.  I love this picture.

Then I went to the Sheetz at Waterloo and Main.  I saw Sheetz gas stations in Kentucky and Tennessee, and they were awful.  I wonder what's going on.  This one in Akron was awful too.

Can't get employees?  That's not a very good excuse.  Any employee would like to get outside and pick up trash for a few minutes a day.  That's all it would take to keep it clean.

I spent 2 hours and 20 minutes picking up 2,691 pieces of trash!

What a mess!

I got it all picked up, one piece at a time.  (Not fun.)
Now it looks the way a Sheetz should look.

I still had 40 minutes left before my timer was due to go off, so I headed to the Speedway on the opposite corner, still at Waterloo & Main.

It was a mess too, even worse.

I'm wondering if they know I'll be coming along, so they don't even try anymore.  Think?

I got a kick out of this little sign.

Apparently, the Speedway can't pick up trash, but they can take care of their grass?  Nice and green, no weeds.

But really . . . what's the point?

You can't see the grass with garbage all over it!

Usually, I take pictures of how an area looks before I pick up the trash, and then how it looks after it's all clean, but my timer went off, and I thought it would be pretty cool to show you the difference.  You can see right where I stopped.

I thought about leaving it that way, but I didn't.  I finished cleaning it.

I picked up 1,076 pieces of trash here in about an hour, so my total was 6,070 pieces today.

I've picked up  over 900,000 pieces!

We are rounding the bend to the finish line!!!
