MORGAN PARK IS GOING TO BE AMAZING!
I missed two days because of icy rain, so it felt good to get back out there. I decided to check Morgan Park. I hadn't been there since last summer. The city is working on updating this park, and it's not very big, but it's going to be amazing! All new sidewalks winding through the park with a great big playground, lots of trash cans.
I cleaned the road on both sides in front of the park. I picked up 1,818 pieces of trash and swept up 32 broken bottles! So much glass! Why do people find so much joy breaking bottles? They're so hard to sweep up, but it's so necessary. Glass won't ever go away on its own.
The sidewalk is very skinny! I could feel cars whizzing by. I sure wouldn't want to stumble! That would be the end of me. Cars and trucks are not only super close, but they are fast. It looks like this truck was moving over alittle for me. Usually there's cars going both ways, and they can't move over.
This park has a lot of trash cans, but they were all full. This one by the parking lot looked like it had half a chair in it. Really? Who puts a chair in a trash can? I 'm grateful the trash cans are being used, but seriously, a chair? No wonder there's no room for anything else.
Maybe if the trash cans were emptied more, there wouldn't be so much trash on the ground.
This park is going to get my attention every week. It's too pretty to get all trashed up. And scary. Why does litter make an area look scary?
It doesn't look scary now.
