TODAY WAS A GREAT DAY TO PICK UP TRASH WITH MY FRIEND, TOM!
My friend, Tom, called me this morning, and I told him I'd pick up trash with him around the exit ramp from 76 to Main Street. I had already planned to work on the exit ramp from 76 to Arlington, so I went there first.
When I got there, the panhandler sitting on that corner hurried up and put all the trash in a pile. It was the STINKIEST trash ever. There may have been a dead animal in the pile. Ick!
I wish I could find the person who lost their keys. I bet they really miss them.
It looks like there's a whistle on the end of the chain, so I'm thinking it belonged to a woman?
The exit ramp looks so much better. It's such a pretty exit ramp. Very long.
And it was old trash. I can tell old trash from new trash because old trash looks weathered and is buried in the dirt.
Old trash is really hard to pick up.
I picked up almost 2,000 pieces, so together, I'm guessing Tom and I picked up about 4,000 pieces. What a difference!
I wore one of my new neon green t-shirts since I was working near the freeway. They are so comfortable in this heat.
Tom cut his finger on a piece of glass. I don't know why he doesn't wear cut-resistant gloves. I told him, "I cut myself EVERY SINGLE TIME I don't wear gloves!"
I'll ask Keep Akron Beautiful to pick up all these bags, the tire and some pieces of wood. They are great about picking stuff up.
It sure feels good to be part of a team.
