BOTTLES AND CANS TONIGHT!

I had a great day at work, and a great evening picking up trash.

It was quite uneventful.  That's nice sometimes.

I didn't meet any new people, I didn't sweep up any broken glass, and I didn't take any before & after pictures.

I did pick up DOZENS of glass bottles and aluminum cans, I did find a nail, and I did pick up 1,647 pieces of trash at the corner of Wilbeth & Main.

Some of these bottles are SO BIG!  Wow!

Not that long ago, I would have swept up dozens of piles of broken glass.  This very tall bottle would have broken into a lot of sharp pieces.

I saw this beer can in the block wall at the southeast corner of Wilbeth & Main.  Somebody really thinks they're clever that they found a "cup holder" for their beer can.

I'd like to know who's walking down the sidewalk drinking alcohol.  "In Ohio, it's illegal to have an open container of alcohol in a public place, including a sidewalk or public road."  (I didn't know the law, so I googled it.)

Did you know that?  Now I have another mystery.  I don't know how businesses can get away with trashed up parking lots, and I don't know how people can get away with consuming alcohol to the tune of hundreds of bottles and cans on one corner of the city.

It seems like there's a whole lot more going on that needs fixed besides littering, don't you think?

  1. Interesting. I did know that law. I think that bottle is pretty.
