THIRD FANTASTIC DAY IN A ROW!

Tonight, I headed over to Archwood & Arlington.  It took five hot days to clean this area the last time.  I did it all in one night!  Yay!

That's three nights that used to take 14 days to clean!  I call that serious progress!

The first thing I found was car parts.  Oh, I hate picking up car parts, especially really big ones that I have to carry around with me for the next hour.  Not only does it look stupid, but I keep banging into big things like this.

Bushes are so challenging, but also fascinating. You will love this as much as I did!

Look closely.  From the road, you can't see much.  Walking by on the sidewalk, you can see there's trash in the bushes.

But if I pull all the trash out of these pushes and leave it there . . .

There's so much more than you would ever guess!

Yes, all this came out of two bushes.  And all the bushes on this corner were like this.

I saw several piles of cigarette butts.  I'm guessing that the people who dump their cigarette butts on the ground think because they have a little tobacco in them, they are a plant, right?

WRONG!  It takes from 9 months to 10 years for one cigarette butt to biodegrade!

I didn't used to pick them up, because they are so little, but after I learned how dangerous they are to the environment, I started picking them up.

They aren't as hard to pick up as glass, but almost.

Shame on whoever does this!

As I walked by the trash can, I saw what looks like a mattress inside!

Seriously?  You throw trash all over the ground, but you put your mattress in the trash can so there's no room for trash?

The world is totally screwed up.

I found at least a dozen of these Wild Irish Rose liquor bottles in the grass.

Thank goodness I found them before the landscaping crew found them.  Picking broken glass out of the grass is really hard.

But this is the find of the night!  I found a brand new bottle of my favorite wine in the bushes!

Who put it there and why they put it there is yet another mystery, but I couldn't throw it in the dumpster.  It's brand new.

I picked up 2,745 pieces of trash tonight and kept on going when my phone alarm went off.

I was feeling discouraged last week, but now I'm feeling EXCITED again!

I'm doing this!
