WAIT UNTIL YOU SEE ALL THE THINGS THAT HAPPENED TODAY!
I went back to Lover's Lane & Brown to continue where I left off before my trash grabber broke, and I saw these ladies outside sweeping up trash! How wonderful to see that!
She was using a broom and dustpan, and a trash grabber would be so much easier. I dropped one off for them last year, but maybe they wore it out.
My friend, Debby, is always encouraging me. She picks up trash as much as she can. Right now, she's in LA helping her kids move from Hawaii, and she said she picked up 132 pieces today. And she said she didn't have a trash grabber and gloves, and just that much hurt her back. She said, "You are one of a kind doing all that you do!"
I told her I couldn't pick up 132 pieces without a trash grabber, a bucket and gloves. My back would hurt too!
Can you believe she's picking up trash in California? I love her!
It was clean!
Well, it looked clean. There was some trash on the sidewalk and in the bushes, but not much.
What a great day!
I opened it and looked inside, and it was all moldy, so obviously not something anybody wanted. What a shame.
I had to change directions and head back to the dumpster to throw the suitcase away. So I walked west on Morgan, and when I got to the park, I couldn't believe how beautiful it is! The last time I saw it, there were bulldozers all over the place.
Wouldn't you think the people who enjoy bringing their kids to this park would take a minute to clean this up? Wow.
It didn't take me two minutes to pick all this up.
I cleaned all around the playground, but it was not bad. There are two big trash cans close by, and I'm sure that helps immensely.
When I got to the beautiful new basketball courts, I saw a disposable trash can right on the court. It had empty water bottles in it, so obviously a very good idea.
I picked up all the car parts and glass, but I left the pieces of the telephone pole in a pile. There wasn't room in my trash cart for all that.
Wouldn't you think somebody would care as much as I do? Oh how I wish they would.
I'll keep cleaning it. I don't mind, but with 23 areas to keep clean, I'm not going to clean it as often as it needs cleaned. And it wouldn't take very long if the people who live around here helped.
I picked up 2,507 pieces of trash and didn't finish. I got caught in the rain not once, not twice, not three times, but four times! And the last time drenched me.
But what a great day!
Very interesting day! You are having better days lately. Good for you! Joyce
