WHAT COUNTRY ARE WE LIVING IN?

I drove down Wilbeth Road on my way to dinner last night.  It was a mess!  I had it all cleaned up last weekend.  How can there be so much trash in one week?

Last night, I was thinking it's hopeless.  I can't keep up.  But I went out early this morning anyway.  And I picked up 3,792 pieces of trash in areas that usually take me four days to clean!  Now, it's all cleaned up again.

And I found money!  Unfortunately, most of these coins are not from the USA.  Somebody must have gotten into somebody's coin collection.

And a woman parked her car and walked up to me.  I wasn't sure if she was going to give me a hug or some money.  She gave me $5!

She said she sees me every day and wanted me to know she really appreciates what I'm doing.  (She looked like $5 was money she really couldn't spare, so I was very grateful for her kind gesture.)

Right along the sidewalk on Wilbeth Road, I found a garbage bag of trash.  How lazy is that?  I don't get it.

People make the effort to buy trash bags.  And then they make the effort to fill them with garbage.  They can't finish the job by taking the bag to the dumpster?

This one was open and stuff was spilling out. So gross.  I got it all cleaned up and took it to the dumpster.

I found another one right on the sidewalk!  I disposed of it too.

The corner of Wilbeth & Arlington was the worst I've ever seen it.  What on earth happens here?

It would take five minutes a day for a pizza shop employee to clean up the parking lot . . . AND IT'S THE LAW!  But they don't do it, obviously.

I picked up 956 pieces of trash on this corner.

I don't even understand why people would eat at this restaurant, when they have to wade through garbage to pick up their food.

Ick!

It's all cleaned up now, but it sure was hot.  I guess I need to clean up this corner more than once a week.
The front of the restaurant was disgusting.

Do people clean out their cars while they're waiting for their pizza?  Or worse, can you imagine what their car interiors look like, if this much trash falls out when they get out?

So gross!

All cleaned up now, and they watched me pick up all this trash while they stood inside doing nothing waiting for customers.

Some days, nothing makes sense to me. Wouldn't an employee WANT to get outside once in a while?  Picking up trash is not hard, especially with a dumpster right around the corner.

I didn't pick up trash Friday or Saturday, and I wasn't planning on picking up trash today, but I can't drive by my favorite areas and see them all trashed up.

It amazes me how many people can drive by this corner each day and do nothing.

My guess is two cars drive by this busy corner per second.  That's 120 cars per minute.  That's 7,200 cars per hour, and that's 100,800 cars per day if there's 14 hours of daylight.

If there are two people in each car, that's over 200,000 people PER DAY who are looking out their window at the garbage on this corner.

And I'm the only one picking it up?

Why?
