BE PROUD OF THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE!

Today was a great day.  I cleaned my house, went to the grocery store, took the dogs to the school to play ball, laminated 53 Easter ornaments.

I wasn't going to pick up trash today because it was rainy and windy, but since I got everything done I wanted to do, I decided to go out for a little while.  There were two areas I wanted to clean. and then I would have most of East Wilbeth Road cleaned up.

I ended up picking up 2,617 pieces of trash, and I found this little metal thing I'm going to put on my keychain.  "May you be proud of the work you do, the person you are, and the difference you make."  How perfect is that for me?

I started at Wilbeth & Virginia, north side of the intersection, and no, this is not the picture from last night, although it's almost the same.

The thing that is super cool is that I cleaned around this dumpster, pulled 12 tires out of the weeds, cleaned all the beer bottles and cans out of the bushes, and cleaned all around the block IN LESS THAN ONE HOUR!

I think that's just amazing.  I'm so much faster than I was last year.

What a difference it makes.

You can look over and see this area as you're driving down Wilbeth Road.

Here are the beer cans and beer bottles that were under these bushes!  Looks like this is the place to party!
After I got that cleaned up, I went to the pizza place at Wilbeth & Arlington.  There was broken glass and napkins and straws . . . and I found this fishing pole on the side of the road.  It must have fallen out of somebody's boat.  Won't they be disappointed when they get to their fishing hole and have no fishing pole?

Never found a fishing pole before.  It was run over a few times, but nobody else walking around this very busy intersection thought to bend over and pick it up?

How sad is that?

  3. It’s incredible the physical strength you have! Moving tires is HARD! They are heavy and can get filled with water. You did do great work and the message on that pin you found was perfect!
