GLASS BOTTLES ON HUDSON RUN IN BARBERTON!
What I found to be very sad is because there's no place to walk, ALL THIS TRASH IS THROWN FROM CARS. Isn't that sad?
Most of the trash I find in Akron is from homeless people walking around. And there may be some homeless people in Barberton too, but they aren't walking around here. There are no sidewalks, and only about 3 feet of space.
In the four hours I've been picking up trash on Hudson Run, I haven't seen anyone walking around.
Yesterday, I guessed it would take me three days. Not happening. I don't know how long it's going to take, but I'll chip away at it until I'm finished. And it will be beautiful!!!
I read that if you use a comb, they will come off easily. I didn't wait to try that. The last thing I need is to get these on Henry & Stella!
I picked up 1,146 pieces of trash tonight, filling four big construction bags.I'm so glad I brought construction bags, because the clear bags I usually have wouldn't have held the weight and sharpness of so much glass.
I tried to keep them together in one place, but I couldn't carry these bags. They were too heavy. So two are together and one is a little ways up the road, but on the same side of the street.
Look how nice it looks clean!
I filled up four construction bags, and the last one, I dumped into this dumpster after cleaning all around it. Usually if someone sees me cleaning their property, they don't mind if I use their dumpster. I'm sure that will be the case here, because it looks so much better now.I'm not near as tired tonight as I was last night. I don't know why. Picking up all those bottles was harder than picking bags out of the briars, but maybe I'm feeling good knowing I'm making progress.
You are definitely making progress. Good for you!
ReplyDeleteWow. There is so much trash on that road. I bet you will spend a week there. Bless you for all you do! Joyce
