LIQUOR BOTTLES ARE KINDA PRETTY!

 

Liquor bottles are kinda pretty.  But not when they are thrown in the weeds, or smashed on the sidewalk.

Tonight, I set my timer for two hours and focused on the big field by the Dollar Store on Waterloo.  

It wasn't too bad until I got to the other side and saw all the bottles and trash under the trees.  (I picked up all the trash and left the bottles for my picture.)

And the field had BIG HOLES here and there.  This hole had a stick plunked into it to let people know there was a hole big enough for me to fit in and disappear!!!  

Wow!  Can you imagine walking around this area in the dark?

I saw this accident debris from the road.  It's been laying here for months, just like the mess I picked up yesterday.  There's a restaurant right there where you can see the parking lot.  The grassy area in front of the restaurant is trash free.  So why do they ignore this area?

I picked up 2,256 pieces of trash, most of it right beside this restaurant.  What do their customers think when they drive in?  I know what I would think.  I would drive right back out!

So I filled two bags of heavy trash, lots of glass bottles, four furnace filters and part of a car!  Good grief!  

Would I be able to get all that back to my car?  It was parked about two blocks away.

Where there's a will, there's a way!  My trash cart hasn't let me down yet.  

I put the white bag in the trash can, then piled the second bag on top, and carried the car part.  It was slow going, but I did it!

Is there any feeling better than doing something you aren't really sure you can do?  I don't think so!
