MISSION ACCOMPLISHED IN WADSWORTH TONIGHT!
Last Tuesday, I started cleaning the exit and entrance ramps from I-76 to 261 in Wadsworth. I made a huge dent, but I didn't finish even one ramp.
There are two entrance ramps and two exit ramps here, and each one has two sides. That means there are 8 areas that need picked up as well as both sides under the overpass.
Tonight, I got there at 5:00 and filled a trash bag in 30 minutes, on just one side of the exit ramp that I worked on before! There's always so much more than you would think.
I picked up the trash on the other side, under the bridge, on both sides of the entrance ramp going east, and then I crossed the street, and oh my goodness!
Whenever I encounter a big mess, I just start anywhere and try really hard to focus on my numbers. If I think about how hard it is, I'm pretty sure I'd quit.
The pieces were so big, great big plastic bags, trash can lids, car parts, and most everything was partially buried in the dirt. IT WILL NEVER BE THIS HARD AGAIN.
I got that area all cleaned up, did the other side, under the bridge, and both sides of the west bound entrance ramp. Hallelujah!Lots of people blew their horns, and that really helped me keep going as it was getting dark.
I picked up 2,109 pieces of trash and filled 7 trash bags.
But best of all, I'm done in Wadsworth for a while. If I see new litter, I'll come back, but I should be able to clean all four ramps in about an hour the next time. New trash is very easy to pick up.
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HONKED!
Wow you never stop! You are so driven! Great job Debbie! Debby
ReplyDeleteWonderful. You met your goal in that area! I'm glad people honked to give you incentive.
ReplyDeleteWadsworth should stay clean a little longer than Akron, I imagine
