I FOUND ANOTHER KNIFE!
Tonight, I went to Archwood & Arlington. I had a feeling it was a mess, and I was right.
Guess how many pieces of trash were in this field?
I picked up 1,166 pieces of trash in this field.
I found lots of worn out car parts. I guess people come to Auto Zone and the brake pads, windshield wipers and oil bottles end up in this field.
Sure seems like Auto Zone employees would take a walk once a week and pick all that stuff up, don't you think? They try to clean up their parking lot, but don't look at the field right beside it.
I found a knife close to the sidewalk.I haven't found a knife for a while. Imagine if a kid found that. Well, it's in my knife box now where it's safe.
I continued east down Archwood, and I cleaned along the sidewalk in front of a bunch of houses. The one on the corner had a lot of the Dollar Store trash in the bushes, and his music was cranked up full blast. I picked that all up, and the music stopped and the door opened. A man came out and gave me $5. He said, "I don't know who you are, but thank you."
Then he turned around, went back into his house and cranked up the music again.
I thought that was very strange. But also very nice.
I found some change. That's always fun.Overall, it was great night. No broken glass. Only one needle. Nice dumpsters to empty my trash in.
I picked up 2,517 pieces of trash tonight, and I would have picked up more, but my trash grabber bit the dust. I had an extra one in my car, but I was tired.
Tomorrow morning at 8:00 is the Main Street Barberton Cleanup. I sure hope lots of people show up. That would make me very happy.
It was a good night. Not much weird stuff and a reward.
