THIS MAKES NO SENSE TO ME!!!

 

I don't understand this at all.  

I picked up so much trash over the weekend that I took last night off.  So I drove to the grocery store, and I noticed this big trashy corner on Arlington, just past Waterloo.  So tonight, I went there to clean it up.

This makes no sense to me at all.  

Whoever mows the grass put all the trash in this spot.  They couldn't put it in a trash bag?  That's just crazy!

Same thing on the other corner.  All the trash was piled in one spot, and it has probably been laying there for a very long time.  The grass was dead under it and the hub cap was rusty.

I got both messes cleaned up, and then I looked across the street.  

I don't know why I never saw it before.  

There was so much litter on the other side of Arlington.  It has been there for who knows how long.  When I drive south on Arlington, I'm looking at the right side of the road, not the left.  Wow!

I only had two trash bags with me and .  I already filled one, so I started filling the second one.  I knew I wouldn't get it done, but I could start.

I found hub caps, clothing, beer bottles, styrofoam cups, all kinds of plastic bags.  All of this garbage was tangled in the weeds and bushes.  One styrofoam cup had grass growing inside it! 

Cars, trucks and busses were whizzing by inches from the sidewalk.  

But guess what?  I crossed the street and got more trash bags out of my car, and I got it all done.

All the way from Waterloo to the bridge.

I picked up 1,557 pieces in three hours.  That's not very much for three hours, but it was really hard. 

Three good things happened:

-- I had extra bags in the car.

-- It didn't rain very long.

-- And I got it all done and don't have to go back!
