WHY DO I OVERDO IT EVERY SINGLE DAY?

Like I told you yesterday, I went back to the exit ramp at Burkhardt and Lovers Lane.  Up close, it was so much worse than I thought.  There was a constant flow of cars.  How can people who live around here look at this and not want to do something?

Funny thing, when I started cleaning this up, I was so embarrassed.  It was beyond gross.  But I didn't walk away.  I kept working at it.

And when I got it all cleaned up, something really wonderful happened.  I FELT SO PROUD OF MYSELF!  Wow!  I did that!

I only picked up 771 pieces here.  Hardest 771 pieces I ever picked up.

I couldn't leave all the bags there on a holiday weekend.  I was afraid the homeless people would rip them open, and I don't ever want to clean up a mess like that again.

So I went to the corner of Brown & Morgan, and the dumpster I use in this area was locked.  I went inside the convenience store and asked if they could unlock it.  They were happy to.  Thank goodness!

I told them I would lock it back up when I was finished, and two hours later, I went back into the store and thanked them, and told them I locked it back up.  I was surprised to see the woman who worked there check.  I guess it's hard to know who to trust.

I cleaned all around the convenience store, and around the taco truck, and when I got to this area, oh my goodness!  What an awful mess!
I started picking pieces up, one at a time, and I got it all cleaned up around the sidewalk.  There's more in the woods, but I'm not going in there.
This big man rode by me several on a teeny tiny minibike.  Have you ever seen anything so goofy?

Just beyond the other area, I found a 42 gallon trash bag that had been carried here by the homeless people, ripped open and scattered all over.

Wait!  That's my bag!  That's how I tie my bags shut!  Oh my goodness!  They got one of my bags of trash, and ripped it open?  And I have to clean it up twice?

I saw a pop can in the bag, so it wasn't mine.  Hallelujah!  I recycle aluminum cans, so it can't be my bag.  I guess everybody who uses these big construction bags tie them like I do.

I was wondering if the people who lived in the houses across the street were peeking out their window watching.  There wasn't a speck of trash on their properties, but directly across the street, it was a dumping ground!

They should be ashamed!  If this mess was across the street from my house, I would clean it up just so I didn't have to look at it.

My poor trash cart got a workout today!
I picked up 2,793 pieces today, and everything hurts.  But not only because I picked up trash for three hours.  When I got home, I crushed all the cans that have been given to me by friends.

Please let it rain tomorrow!
