YOU WON'T BELIEVE THIS!

You won't believe this!  I went back to the area I've been cleaning for over a week, and when I got out of my car, I saw the maintenance guys who are supposed to keep this property clean.  They were sitting in their trucks talking.  One of the guys said, "There's not much to pick up.  We've been really busy."

Seriously?  I CLEANED THIS AREA AND HAVE PICTURES TO PROVE IT!  What the heck!  I wonder if he got a raise for doing all the work I did!

I walked over to his truck and told him there is a dog house and a sleeping bag behind that bush that I didn't feel comfortable pulling out.  I acted like I didn't hear what he said, and I told him I was almost done.  One more street to go.  (They both left really fast.)  How can someone take credit for what someone else did?

I walked over to Jenkins and picked up all the trash there.  1,191 pieces in one hour.  I saw this Keep Akron Beautiful bag in the weeds with all the other trash.  I wonder who started cleaning this street and changed their mind.

My son encouraged me to participate in his "5K Every Day in the Month of May."  He said I probably get more steps than I think when I pick up trash.

He was right!  It takes 6,560 steps to equal 5K, and I had 6,696 steps on my first attempt, so I think I can do it.  The challenge starts tomorrow, May 1.

If you want to sign up, my son's blog is www.jeffpolenmusic.com.  He and his wife, and all five of their kids do it every year.  What a great family activity!
