CLEANING EXIT RAMPS IS FUN!
Cleaning the exit ramp from Route 8 southbound to Wilbeth Road is one of my favorite cleanups. That's because I can park close by, and I can climb over the guard rail and stay safe. But not only that, I love watching the people stopped at the light. What are they thinking?
Who is that woman? Does she work for the city? Why is she cleaning up other people's trash? People are pigs! Why doesn't she look miserable? Is she performing community service? Wow! What a difference! Maybe I should do that too.
Everybody watches me. There's really nothing else to do on an exit ramp if you aren't throwing trash and cigarette butts out of your car window.
Who thinks that's okay?
And sometimes, they put everything in a nice bag and then heave it out the window. How is that better?
I picked up 875 pieces of trash here and filled two big bags. I'll ask Keep Akron Beautiful to come pick them up.(I've been keeping them pretty busy lately.)
Now it looks respectable. How long will it stay clean? It probably needs cleaned again right now.
Acceptance is really important when I pick up trash. I accept that people will continue to litter, and I accept that somebody needs to pick it up.
I hope to be at 950,000 by the weekend! I'm getting really close to my goal!
Looks so much better when you are finished! What a difference you make. 😊 Joyce
