CRAZY WINDY DAY TODAY!!!

Tonight, I went out even though it was super windy.  I don't want to miss a day.  I only picked up 992 pieces in 2 1/2 hours, but that's because I spent half my time chasing down the trash that swirled around in my bucket and flew out.

First, I went to the post office to mail some letters, and on my way past the bus stop, I saw trash that needed picked up, even though there's a nice big trash can there.

Carts were thrown all over, and I saw this hub cap in the bushes!  How insane is that?

I wonder how long it's been there.  Nobody cared enough to pull it out and throw it away?

What is the fascination in Akron with bushes and trash?

After that, I drove past the exit ramp to Wilbeth Road, and my two bags, tire and vacuum cleaner are still there.

I asked Keep Akron Beautiful to pick them up.  Maybe they'll come by tomorrow.

But at least the bags are not ripped open.

Last night, here are the bolts and nails I picked up on that entrance ramp to Route 8.  How do people go anywhere without flat tires in Akron?

I found quite a few coins last night too, but they are pretty mangled up.  Not sure the bank will even take them.

My friend, Rose, sent me this picture of the trash she picked up around her yard the other day.

I am so proud of her for helping.  It will take all of us to really make a difference.

After I drove past the exit ramp, I headed to Arlington & Wilbeth and cleaned around the pizza shop.  I just cleaned this corner last week, but it needed it again.

The next area looked pretty good, but the street was nasty.

And wait until you see this.  On a little folding table, this trash was just left.  With all the wind, it wouldn't have been there much longer.  They will be happy to see I threw it away before it was all over the street.

And what in the world is this?  My guess is a nasty trick played on a little sister by a big brother.

I was going to throw it away, but maybe he'll come back for it so his little sister stops crying for her Barbie.

I'm happy I didn't quit when I saw how windy it was.  Every piece is getting me closer to my goal.
