WAIT UNTIL YOU SEE THIS! IT'S INCREDIBLE!

Remember a few weeks ago, I was cleaning this area off Arlington and a woman in a van stopped and said, "I wish you could pick up that trailer and throw it in the dumpster?"

Oh how I wished I could help.  It was definitely an eyesore, and trash piled all around it.

Well, I went back to clean the exit ramp from I-76 west to Arlington, and guess what?

I think the City of Akron is reading my blog posts!  They got rid of the trailer!!!

What a BEAUTIFUL site to see!

But just like accident debris, they didn't pick up the trash.  What an awful mess!  I picked up over 2,000 pieces of glass, styrofoam, drug store items, a jump rope, batteries, bags, cans, golf balls, a little girl's purse, eye glass cases, dozens of them, and you name it, I picked it up.

I can understand why the City of Akron didn't clean this mess.  It was really hard.

But now it's done.

All the glass, all the styrofoam, all the bags.  All in the dumpster.
It took three trips, but I got it done. And here's the best part.  When I was almost finished, a car came down the street very slowly.  Then a man and woman got out in their driveway, which was right across the street from this area.

The woman walked over to me and said, "My husband and I are having an argument.  I say you are cleaning our neighborhood because you're getting paid.  He says you're not."  I said, "Nope, not getting paid a dime.  I'm picking up trash because I love it.  I know the people who live here appreciate it."  And she said, "Well, that just blesses my heart."

Then when I was headed north on Arlington, a man pulled his car over and said, "You are doing an amazing job.  If you ever need a ride, call me."  And he gave me his card. That was very nice too.

You never know when you might need a ride.

After I finished with that, I headed to the exit ramp, which was where I was headed in the first place.  Got that all cleaned up, and it's a long one!  Whew!

Something really funny happened yesterday when I was getting ready to clean behind the fence under the bridge.  I decided I would give it a try, even though I was a little uneasy.  Then I smelled poop.  I thought, "Oh no, not doing that!  I draw the line when it comes to poop!"

I turned my head and looked at the intersection, and there was a cattle truck turning left to get onto Route 8!!!  It was full of cows!  What on earth is a cattle truck doing driving through a neighborhood on Archwood Avenue?  That's crazy!

I thought it was pretty funny though.  There was no poop behind the fence.

I picked up 3,265 pieces of trash today.  Two super good days in a row!  Two super big messes in a row.  When I headed out tonight, I didn't know where I was going.  There's no trash in Firestone Park.  It's all clean.   It seems that no matter where I go, I find a mess to clean up.
