I DIDN'T THINK I'D HAVE A BLOG POST TODAY
I didn't think I'd have a blog post tonight. I went to an area I usually clean, and I picked up 1,282 pieces of trash, but nothing interesting.
I did meet a very negative woman who was from South Carolina. She said, "We bought this house sight unseen, and how much do you know about this neighborhood? Did you know there's a shooting every day?"
I told her I was very familiar with the neighborhood. Been picking up trash here for years. I got away from her as fast as I could.
I drove over to Arlington to continue to make my way to Waterloo. I found this broken wine bottle in the grass. Can you imagine your dog stepping off the sidewalk and encountering this? It would not be good.
I found this car part right by the sidewalk and a beer can beside it, like it belongs there.I was cleaning the gravel beside the Mexican restaurant, and I found a can opener.Gravel hides a lot of trash.
And by the bus stop, I found this pretty pen. Being an office supply salesman, you know I love pens!(I haven't checked to see if it writes yet.)
When I got to the Wendy's, the parking lot was very clean, but beside the parking lot was a mess.Employees aren't going to do anything they aren't required to do, I guess. All I know is if I drove in to buy a burger and saw this, I probably wouldn't eat here.
But beside the Subway? Oh my goodness! It was the worst!Again, the parking lot was clean, but all around the parking lot, it was awful. One of the worst messes I've cleaned up yet.
This area on the south side of the building was all kinds of trash and poop. I cleaned all the trash, but I'm not messing with the poop.Would you eat at this restaurant if the parking lot was surrounded by trash and poop?
I wouldn't.
There was a nice big dumpster in the corner, and behind it, I found an office chair that weighed about a hundred pounds! I wonder how long it's been there. They don't make chairs with a four-star base anymore, because they can tip over, so this chair is very old.I was able to hoist it into the dumpster, but if the dumpster hadn't been right there, I wouldn't have been able to.
Why am I the only one who cared about this? Anybody could see it driving by.
So I picked up 1,333 pieces of trash from the Mexican restaurant to Waterloo Road.Yes, I finally made it to Waterloo Road.
Tomorrow, I'll cross the street and see what kind of messes I can find on the other side of the street.
Arlington Road is going to look so good when I'm done.
Omgosh! Bless you for picking up trash in this heat! Joyce
