TONIGHT ENDED UP BEING PRETTY FUN!
I noticed trash at the Dollar Store on Waterloo, so that's where I started tonight. I had two jugs of cold water in my car.
I cleaned all around the Dollar Store, the big field, the restaurant, the Ralley's, the laundromat, and I crossed the street and cleaned all around this barbershop.
A beautiful woman came out and asked me if I wanted a bottle of water. (If I was a guy, I would stand in line to get my hair cut here!)
I told her yes, she gave it to me, and I drank it all. (The water in my car wasn't doing me much good when I walked so far away!)
Then she came out again and gave me another bottle for the road. I was so grateful!
I walked by all the shops here, past the tire place, and cleaned to another restaurant. The same guy I met here before drove up, and said hello. I found out his name is Jason. (Nice name!)We talked for a little while. I told him I went to Hardesty Park like he told me to, and it was very clean.
He parked his truck and walked back to me with a list of all the parks he cleans each week. I had no idea there were so many parks in Akron! Wow!
I took a picture of the list so I can check them out.
After that, I crossed Waterloo, and cleaned past Chipotle and other amazingly good smelling places, and crossed Brown by the Giant Eagle.I remembered cleaning around all these bushes in the coarse gravel last year. I was being very careful not to walk in these rocks. They are like marbles!
But look how clean it looks. (It's not clean at all!)
I got all of this trash (and $5) out of that tiny area! These bushes wrap around Brown and Waterloo and go on forever! They were messy from start to finish.
This shows you how much trash was hidden in the flowers. It was incredible!I found some pretty flowers, andIt was a Hawaiian lei!!! How fun is that? When I got to the other side of the Giant Eagle parking lot, I left my cart on the sidewalk and started picking up trash in this grassy area, another area that went on and on.Nobody cares about this area. Luckily, there was a dumpster at the end of it, and I was able to empty my bucket four times!
It looks so good now.
I crossed Waterloo and ended up at the Dollar Store again, and I found hundreds of pieces of trash on the sidewalk and the east end of the parking lot.I saw this long yellow plastic thing. I thought it was safety tape, so I started winding it up to throw it away, and I noticed the perforations
POOP BAGS!!! I never have enough of those! What a lucky day for me!
I picked up 3,106 pieces of trash on all four corners of Waterloo and Brown, a very big area that really needed me tonight.
It was a very good night after two days of rain.
Sounds like a good night.
ReplyDeleteGreat to see someone else like Jason picks up trash too! All those parks! You had a good night! Poop bags and five bucks! 😁 Joyce
