I FOUND ANOTHER BULLET!

 

Tonight, I wanted to go to an area I haven't been to for a while.  It's discouraging to see so much trash in areas I just cleaned, so I went to Lover's Lane & Brown. I haven't been there for a few months.  I love this area.  I just haven't been there, because I've been everywhere else.

It was a huge mess!  I got out of my car and unloaded my trash cart, and right there in the parking lot, I found a bullet!  It was heavy, so it had gun powder in it.

I did what I did before and called the non-emergency police number.  The dispatcher told me to throw it away when she heard where I was.  I'm guessing they have enough bullets from this area.  It's in the news a lot. 

I cleaned all four corners and picked up 3,843 pieces of trash.  There was so much that I'll go back tomorrow and pick up this much going the rest of the way around the block.

Most of the areas are nicely mowed, but then the trash is shredded into lots of pieces.  I don't know what I prefer.  This looks horrible, but at least the trash is quick and easy to pick up. 

And it looks better.  I guess it looks better.  Someone will eventually mow.

Right across the street, there were ceramic dishes all busted in the road, and broken glass all through the weeds.

I got that all cleaned up.

And I found tires and clothing and cups . . . 

I feel so sorry for the people who live around here.  Why don't they care?  People were walking everywhere.  Nobody said thank you.  Nobody beeped their horn.  It was a long night.  

I wonder if they're all mad at me because I didn't come back sooner.  Maybe.

This is right on the main street, over a thousand pieces of trash right here all tangled up in the weeds and fence.

Now it's all clean, and as I usually do, I looked back when I got to my car.  What a difference it makes to pick up the trash.  It's such a simple thing that anybody at any age can do.  Why did they let it get this bad?  If there's a lot of crime in this area, that's why.  Trashy areas look unsafe.  Now it looks like somebody cares about it, and somebody does.  I do.

I'll put this area on my weekly list, but I have 33 areas now.  How can I clean 33 areas every week?  I'd have to clean five areas every night!  That's not even possible.

I'll figure out something.  It was a very good night.  I made a huge difference here.
