MISSION ACCOMPLISHED AT KOHL'S!!!
After a great Sunday in Wadsworth, Barberton and Akron, I got rained out on Monday. Actually, it stopped raining and I could have gone out, but I needed to go shopping to buy some new Under Armour t-shirts. They're the only ones that don't look all sweaty in this heat, and I needed a bunch of them.
So I drove over to Kohl's on Arlington, and after I was finished shopping, I saw all this trash driving out. There was a huge pile of clothing and shoes, and trash all the way to the light.
So that's where I went tonight.
There's a new Aldi store going in by Kohl's, and I asked the men working there if I could throw my trash in their big dumpsters, and they said yes. Thank goodness! I picked up 3,504 pieces and emptied my bag 7 times! The clothing has been there long enough to kill the grass. Everything was torn and stinky and wet, and I had to pick everything up by hand.
But I got it all cleaned up.
Whoever passed through this area had a sense of humor. Look at the stuffed animal on the high wire!I wonder how long this trash has been here. The drains were plugged with bottles and cans.It looks so much better now, and probably actually drains the rain water now. There was another one farther up, and you couldn't even tell it was a drain. It looks so much better. The next time I clean this area, it will take about 15 minutes instead of three hours.
The trash was ground into the dirt and so hard to pick up, but not all of it was old trash. This looked like a picnic earlier in the day.Can you imagine sitting under this tree to eat lunch and just walking away from your trash? Who does something like that?
Every time I filled my bag, I had to walk all the way across the parking lot and dump my bag into a dumpster that was taller than me.But I'm certainly not complaining! It was so nice to have a dumpster. I wouldn't have finished in one night if I had had to drive somewhere to empty seven stinky bags.
It was a very good night.
So many clothes. Such a waste.
ReplyDeleteShame on whoever owns that property for letting it be so trashy! My goodness! So thankful for you to take notice and pick it all up. 🤗
