I LOVE IT WHEN PEOPLE TELL ME WHERE TO GO!

 

I love it when people tell me where to go!  

This is a litter map for the City of Columbus.  When I went there in 2023 to find out why a city six times larger than Akron was clean, I discovered their "litter map."  It shows areas where there's trash.  It's very cool.  I knew just where to go to help out.

Melanie at Main Street Barberton told me to go to Wooster Road, around the road construction site, to find trash.  I drove there, and it was clean.  Somebody saw it and picked it up before I got there.  

(That doesn't happen in Akron.) 

So I went to my usual spot, Wooster Road by all the restaurants and stores.  And I told Melanie, "Barberton is so clean!  If I don't pick up much trash tonight, I'm not coming back.  You don't need me anymore.  What a great thing!  You should be so proud!"

I found lots and lots of cigarette butts.  This bucket has some paper trash and hundreds of cigarette butts!  There's 514 pieces of trash in this bucket!  How can people smoke that much since the last time I was here? 

The area by the bus stop looks so nice now.  

Imagine if we didn't pick up those little cigarette butts.  There would be so many you couldn't see the ground!

Even little cigarette butts need to be picked up.  They won't go away for years.

So I finished there and crossed the street and headed south.  And I heard such a ruckus!  

I looked across the street, and the Kimball Disposal truck was emptying the trash can.  I had no idea that these city trash cans were emptied automatically with the big arm of a garbage truck.  

I was told Akron didn't have the manpower to empty the trash cans, and that's why they were overflowing.  There's not much manpower involved in emptying city trash cans!  A garbage truck does all the work! 

All along Wooster Road, there are bushes.  This row was recently trimmed.  They look so nice.  Like they all got haircuts!

But don't look inside!!! 

Every bush on Wooster Road was full of garbage!  It was incredible! 

Don't the people who trim these bushes take out the trash?  That's so gross.  

I found lots of water bottles and cans, potato chip wrappers, fast food bags, and stinky baby diapers. 

And along these steps must be where people eat their lunch.  That was pretty gross too.  (You can see all this trash from the bus stop across the street.)

In one of the bushes, I found a brand new bottle of Minute Maid Fruit Punch, and a beer can.  (The beer can was empty.)

If somebody is using these bushes for a refrigerator, they'll be disappointed when they come back and find all their food is gone.

I was almost done, and I saw lawn mower trash in this big field.  

I'm not sure which I dislike more:  cigarette butts or lawn mower trash.  Both are so tedious to pick up.

It's all clean now.  

This field is right beside the White House Chicken place.  It should be clean.  It doesn't belong to the restaurant, so they don't care, but they should.  It looks bad.

I picked up 1,515 pieces of trash tonight on Wooster Road in Barberton.  

I guess they do still need me.
