SUPER HOT DAY TO PICK UP TRASH

My goodness, it was hot today.  I was out three hours and picked up 1,870 pieces of trash on Wilbeth Road.

I started at the bank and walked west toward the Rt. 8 entrance and exit ramps.  When I got to the corner, I turned left and walked down the sidewalk.

As I walked back to my trash cart, somebody had just rhrown a "Little Debbie" donut onto the sidewalk.

Isn't that funny?  It made me laugh.

I picked up all this trash around the sidewalk.  I did not go onto the exit ramp.  I promised I wouldn't.
As I was walked east, a young man with crutches and a dog yelled something across the street.  I didn't hear him, so he yelled it again, "DO YOU HAVE A CIGARETTE?"  I made a face and shook my head NO!

It sure looked to me like the last thing he needed was a cigarette.  He had a lot going on.  It was hard for me to walk in this heat.

I felt so sorry for him.

This parking lot had all this trash close to where somebody was working on their car.  Do you see the dumpster?  I see it.  Apparently, they didn't.
All these papers were blown into the corner.  I didn't want to pick them up.  I hate picking up paper.  But then I said to myself, "Either pick it up now . . . or pick it up when it blows onto the sidewalk."
So I picked it up.
And behind another dumpster . . . ICK!  I'd much rather pick up paper than disgusting messes like this.
But I cleaned it up.

As I drove home, I looked at the area I cleaned.  It looks so nice.

  1. Just keeping a positive outlook has to make you feel better about this. Tom should stop doing the ramps.
