EVERY CITY HAS TRASH TO PICK UP

Tonight, I headed over to Wooster Road in Barberton to continue where I left off before my trash grabber broke on Saturday night.  The entire city looks so clean!  But it's still worthwhile to walk up and down the sidewalks looking for trash.

I found this mess right across the street from the bus stop.  Ick!  There's an empty trash can right there!

Why do people do this?

And at the corner of that street, I found all these condiments.  They are so awful when someone steps on one and sauce squirts out.
This little pile of trash was at the auto parts store.  Pretty clean everywhere else, but a pile here.

I met lots of people tonight.  One man said, "I think what you're doing is INCREDIBLE!"  Isn't that funny?   I think it's really important, but I'm not sure I'd say it's incredible.

Another older man said, "I see you everywhere!  Are you going to clean every street in Barberton?"  I said, "I am."

And an older couple coming out of the Hungarian place that smelled so good said, "I've never seen anyone picking up litter before!"  I replied, "I'm part of Main Street Barberton."

Talking to people is my favorite part of picking up trash.

I picked up the trash that was trapped on both sides of this fence.  Picking trash off a fence is so easy!  It can't get away!

So it was a very good night.  I only went three blocks, but I picked up 1,934 pieces of trash in two hours.

I parked my car in the Parasson's parking lot.  This is a restaurant that is currently closed.  I walked up the alley behind the building, and . . .

I found this huge mess layers deep!  Oh my goodness!  This is between the restaurant and the laundromat.

I DID NOT CLEAN IT.

I sent a text to Melanie at Main Street Barberton to see what she wants me to do.

Maybe homeless people are living here.  Maybe a team of City workers should clean this up.

I'll clean it tomorrow if she wants me to, but I don't want to step on any toes.  I did that enough in Akron.

  2. The litter in Barberton is so much easier to pick up! No large car parts!
