WHAT A DIFFERENCE ON BROADWAY!

Today was an awesome day, not only because it was 60 degrees out, but because I made a huge difference on Broadway.  I had noticed trash as I drove by.  Anytime you notice trash, it's usually pretty bad.

I picked up 1,136 pieces of trash in a little section from Dayton Mountain Highway to the top of the hill.  That's a lot!

Right off the bat, I picked up several broken bottles that had been smashed in the parking lot.

And I found a big juicy nail on the road!  Right where I drive!

No matter where I go, I guess I'm going to find broken glass and nails.

There was a section that was a little scary.  Not a lot of room for me and my trash cart, but I was very careful, and pressed against the building when a car came.
The terrain in Tennessee is quite different from Akron.  Lots of steep ditches to navigate.  And that's where the trash that is thrown from cars ends up.
I was out for two hours, and finished this part.  My guess is I won't have to do it very often.  The trash that was here has been here for a very long time.

My son works just down the road, and I hope he goes to lunch with a coworker and says, "See how nice it looks?  My Mom did this!"

I loaded up both trash bags in the car and headed to the Morgantown Convenience Center.  I think that's what it's called.  It's on the left as you're heading up the mountain on Route 30.  I love this place!  They take anything, and the girl who works there is so nice.  I gave her my number and told her what I'm doing.  She said her daughter would love to help.  Yay!
