WHAT AN ACHIEVEMENT!

Today, I headed over towards my son's house to pick up trash.  I drove up the Dayton Mountain Highway, and when I turned left onto his road, I saw lots of trash at the stop sign, both sides.  I wasn't sure if it would be safe.  There's lots of traffic and visibility is not good, but it was fine.  There was a place to park my car.

Traffic was heavy.  I'm not sure if there's always a lot of traffic, or if people were circling to see what I was doing.

The first thing I saw was a bolt.  I got rid of that.  The second thing I saw was string.  Yes, miles of white string.  It was on the side of the road.  I wound and wound and wound, and got it all.

Wonder who lost that?

This is the area I wanted to clean up.  People must throw their bottles and cans as they are waiting at the stop sign.  What a shame.
I filled two trash bags, and it looks so nice now.  (I'm pretty sure my son and his wife will drive to town and say, "Hmmm, looks like Mom was here.")
I don't know what it is about me and chickens.  I've seen a chicken every time I've picked up trash.  This one was very friendly and very colorful.
I only picked up 570 pieces of trash today, but they were all big.  And after I tied the bags shut, I took them to the Morgantown Convenience Center.

I love this place!  People who live in the city of Dayton, as I do, have trash pickup.  But people who live outside of the city limits have to take their trash here.

You drive in, and put your metal trash in one place, your household trash in another place, and everything else in the huge containers.  It's so convenient.

Akron had lots of dumpsters, but many times, they were locked to keep the homeless people from rooting through them.  And they were so gross.  This place is amazing, and the people working here will help me if I need it.
